Impala Terminals Group facilitates the global trade of commodities by offering producers and consumers reliable and efficient access to international markets. Through its network of more than 45 strategically located assets and operations in 29 countries, Impala provides critical storage and logistics infrastructure services to energy and dry bulk customers around the world. The company manages two global businesses – Impala Energy Infrastructure and Impala Dry Bulk & Logistics - and is a joint venture between one of the world’s largest commodity trading houses, Trafigura, and the global fund manager, IFM Investors. ITG is a Joint-Ventures between Trafigura and IFM investment fund, owning and operating various assets such as ports, terminals and multimodal logistics assets chains in export driven emerging markets for both liquid and dry cargos. It operates as well several assets (owned by Trafigura) under a management service.

Within this role, the candidate will work close with the functional team vision for multiple projects within the Dry division in the IT department, manage expectations of the key business stakeholders on delivery of these projects, and report to the IT department the status of those projects on a regular basis.

Key responsabilities: 

  • Identify and manage improvement IT projects
  • Accountable for planning and execution of project costs, time and scope
  • Manage project team, leading and supervising work execution.
  • Define and trigger actions to control risks and issues.
  • Produce regular (weekly) reports of issue status and plans and activities to manage.
  • Responding to user queries in a timely manner and providing advice on the use of the systems.
  • Escalating issues requiring developer/analyst input as appropriate within internal IT teams or vendors.
  • Managing to bring everyone from different teams shortly into call to drive for quick resolution.
  • Identify and fully document processes used to resolve recurring issues.

  • Strong understanding of project management principles and status reporting.
  • Must be a pro-active problem solver able to work in a structured way.
  • Educated to degree level in a numerate subject with strong IT background.
  • Detail-oriented self-starter, an exceptional listener, and a skilled communicator (both verbal and written).
  • Analytical, critical thinker, and problem solver with the ability to think through process challenges and develop effective improvements
  • Enjoy working within a constantly changing and demanding environment, while project managing and prioritizing multiple tasks at one time.
  • Strong knowledge of the software development lifecycle.
  • Responsibility for taking full ownership of any issues reported by functional team users till complete resolution even if needs to be engaging different teams for resolution.
  • Ability to handle customers with different levels of technical and business knowledge.
  • Experience of working in a high volume, time critical, environment.
  • Continuous learning and growth mindset.
  • Must be able to speak fluently in English.
  • Warehousing and Logistics knowledge is a plus
