We are a growing start up with a staff of 20+ based in Los Angeles. Our team has developed creative and innovative ways to collect and display data, making us a vital resource in the world of legal analytics.

We are looking for a Data Engineer with sufficient experience to provide scalable processes for data parsing and analysis, and help bring our team to the next level.

Principal Responsabilities: 

  • Maintain and improve large scale fault tolerant data collection and processing pipelines (ETL) from the ground up.
  • Leverage modern technologies in M/L for various types of data identification, normalization, and reconstruction of partial and natural language phrasing.
  • Manage application and data integration platforms using Amazon Web Services
  • Leverage your software development and data engineering skills to impact our business by taking assisting in key projects requiring coding and data pipelines
  • Be an active participant in the full life cycle of development/ reporting/ integration projects: planning, design, develop, testing and rollout that confirms to Agile/Scrum
  • Standards to ensure process improvements for your team
  • Maintain detailed documentation of your work and changes to support data quality and governance
  • Work with and improve upon data pipelines for constantly increasing data volumes (10x)

  • Mid-level experience working with and writing sophisticated programs, implementing architectures, and assisting automation in these environments
  • Proven experience with AWS and cloud computing services
  • Proven experience operating and improving complex ETL (extraction, transformation, and loading) pipelines.
  • Experience with all aspects of the data integration life cycle (source system analysis, ETL development and data model/structure design)
  • Knowledge of data acquisition technologies such as web crawling, PDF data extraction, and Computer Vision
  • Knowledge of ElasticSearch, Neo4j, PostgreSQL or other optimization techniques
  • Ability to thrive in an agile, entrepreneurial start-up environment
