LEAD ENGINEER (Python)
SUSPENDIDO We are looking for lead engineers to be versatile, display a passion for leadership and challenge the status quo. You will lead a team of engineers to develop new features and systems for Companys platform and services coordinating across disciplines with product, operation, credit, business development and other engineers. You will deliver high-quality software that is aligned with user needs and business goals. You should be able to work independently with little supervision.
Responsibilities
- Partner with product and other business units to identify, design, and implement solutions to build the next-gen underwriting and financing platform.
- Planning and organizing the execution plan with other engineers who will be helping you.
- Demonstrate modular and scalable approach towards software development.
- Provide training and help evolve best practices throughout the engineering organization.
- Collaborate with internal teams and vendors to fix and improve products.
- 8+ years of relevant professional experience in enterprise level software development.
- In-depth knowledge of mid-tier programming languages (e.g. Python, C++) and the Java/J2EE platform
- In-depth knowledge of relational databases (e.g. PostgreSQL, MySQL) and NoSQL databases (e.g. MongoDB)
- Deep understanding of clean, modular and scalable API design. Ability to promote best coding practices and influence other engineers on code quality and craftsmanship.
- Self-motivated and willing to participate in all areas of engineering. Effective communicator for articulating rationales and design approaches, cross functional awareness, and mentoring others.
- Analytical mind with problem-solving aptitude
- Excellent organizational and leadership skills
- Worked in a high-growth start-up with experience of going from 0 to 1 or starting at code level zero.
- Experience in building FinTech, risk and underwriting platforms.
- Knowledge of AWS, heroku, kubernates or similar cloud services.
- Hand on architecture experience
