HEAD OF SECURITY AND DEVOPS
OPEN As Head of Security & DevOps, you will combine the responsibilities of a Head of DevOps with a CISO mindset. You will lead a team of DevOps Engineers responsible for building and operating infrastructure for our clients and our internal products, while owning security and compliance across the company. This is a hands-on leadership role. In our company, managers lead people and processes while remaining technically involved. You should be comfortable designing cloud architectures, reviewing infrastructure, investigating security issues, talking to clients and auditors, and developing your team.
What You’ll Do:
- Lead and develop the DevOps team while remaining hands-on technically.
- Design and oversee secure, scalable, and cost-effective cloud infrastructure.
- Define best practices around IaC, CI/CD, IAM, observability, backups, and disaster recovery.
- Own the company’s security strategy, including vulnerabilities, incident response, threat modeling, and security assessments.
- Drive HIPAA and SOC 2 compliance, working closely with clients and auditors.
- Lead the adoption of AI and automation across DevOps and Security.
- Work directly with clients, CTOs, security teams, and auditors on technical, security, and compliance matters.
- Strong background in DevOps, Cloud Infrastructure, Platform Engineering, SRE, or Security Engineering.
- Strong hands-on experience with AWS and production cloud environments.
- Strong experience with Infrastructure as Code, particularly Terraform, and modern CI/CD practices.
- Deep understanding of cloud security, IAM, networking, secrets management, observability, reliability, and incident response.
- Experience with security hardening, vulnerability management, penetration testing, and security monitoring.
- Understanding of HIPAA and SOC 2 and the technical controls required to support compliance.
- Ability to translate security and compliance requirements into practical technical implementations.
- Strong leadership skills with experience developing engineers and improving processes.
- Ability to communicate effectively with engineers, executives, clients, auditors, and security stakeholders.
- Strong product and business judgment, balancing security and reliability with engineering velocity.
- Strong written and spoken English.
You’ll build a DevOps organization capable of delivering secure and reliable infrastructure for our clients, strengthen the company security posture, and ensure our products and practices meet the standards expected in healthcare. You’ll also help our clients navigate security and compliance while leading the transformation of DevOps and Security into an increasingly AI-native practice. We’re looking for someone who can lead the team, build the infrastructure, own security, work with clients, and still get their hands dirty.
