You will be working with our multicultural teams specialised in mobile iOS and Android app building, web, back-end and dev-ops, a total of around 50 fun and driven team players.

We are looking for an experienced Senior Data Engineer. This person will be responsible for developing the Data Engineer practice in the company, while also helping our team with the right set of tools for constructing, testing and maintaining data architectures (pipelines, data lakes) to improve data reliability, efficiency and quality. You will work closely with the engineering, project management and business analyst teams to deliver updates and propose new ways to use data in order to achieve efficiency and quality in our processes.
 
Qualified candidates should not only be able to lead the Data Engineer practice but actively participate in developing data architectures, data set processes and managing data tools as well. We expect this candidate to have an interest in mentoring team members and align everyone on the use of best practices
and patterns of our Data Engineering strategy.
 

RESPONSIBILITIES:

 

  •  Develop, construct, test and maintain data architectures (pipelines, data lakes), via open  communication with Tech Leads and Business Analysts-.
  • Plan and manage Data acquisition activities.
  • Develop data set processes. Be the main point of contact for Data Architecture/Model knowledge for the backend, devops and architecture teams.
  •  Use programming languages and data tools mentioned in the skills section.
  • Identify ways to improve data reliability, efficiency and quality. Emphasis on ETL/ELT activities
  •  Conduct research for industry and business questions
  •  Use large data sets to address business issues.
  • Prepare data for predictive and prescriptive modeling, in alignment with business needs.
  •  Use data to discover tasks that can be automated.
  •  Deliver updates to stakeholders and communicate with project team members.
  •  Reporting of progress, status and road blockers to PM's and Engineering Leaders, as in a matrix structure.

 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Statistics, Informatics, Information Systems or related field preferred.
  • Experience creating and maintaining data pipelines for RDBMS systems and various cloud-based data sources
  • Experience with Google Cloud, or another major cloud provider such as AWS
  • Experience with Big Query, Redshift, or similar cloud data warehouse
  • Experience using Airflow (or managed Airflow, e.g. Cloud Composer) and DBT
  • Fivetran/Stitch for data ingestion and other data management (ETL/ELT) tasks
  • Strong ETL proficiency using GUI-based tools or code-based patterns.
  • Strong programming skills in SQL, Python or a similar language
  • A strong practitioner of test-driven (and behavior driven) development
  •  Experience with Git workflows, continuous integration and automated build pipelines
  • Experience working in an Agile environment
  •  A track record of staying at the forefront of data engineering technology.
  •  Experience with BI tools: Looker, Tableau
  •  Experience with Dataflow, Apache Beam, Spark, Kafka, Flink, or other streaming technologies.
  •  Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, Terraform, and other DevOps and infrastructure as code technologies.
