SSR DATABASE ADMINISTRATOR (URUGUAY)
SUSPENDED This position is responsible for database planning, design, and implementation, as well as the maintenance and optimization of PostgreSQL/Enterprise DB PPAS database supporting our Cloud application.
This role will work closely with the DBAs, development, architecture, and infrastructure teams to design and administer databases to provide and enforce contractual SLAs
- Installation / configuration/ maintenance and Administration of PostgreSQL with an emphasis on EnterpriseDB versions
- Disaster Recovery Planning and Implementation
- Expert in developing scripts for a range of maintenance activities
- Experience with Enterprise Failover Manager for HA is required
- Must be able to patch/upgrade PostgreSQL in a HA architectureExperience with xDB Replication preferred
- Knowledge of connection poolers like pgPool and pgBouncer ideal
- Thorough knowledge of database security best practices
- Experience with Implementation in a Cloud Environment ideal
- Expert in performance analysis and resolution• Knowledge of Planning and Implementing (scripting) backup strategies
- Cloud SaaS (multi-tenant) environment experience preferred• Knowledge of Integration with 3rd party Monitoring Systems
- Familiarity with Virtual Machine (or Docker) technology a plus
- Expert in problem solving, planning, organization, and documentation
- Ability to excel in a cohesive team environment• Experience with JDBC connection pools preferred
- Communicates effectively to both technical and non-technical individuals at various levels of customer and internal organizations• Uses consultative techniques and skills in their services delivery
- This is a hybrid role and would be expected to be in the office 2-3 days per week
- Bachelors or equivalent experience in Computer Science
- PPAS Database, Enterprise DB Database Administrator Certified Associate or Professional Preferred
- Experience managing 24x7 production support
- Strong knowledge in UNIX/LINUX platforms
- Must be able to manage time effectively and to deliver on commitments
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Must be able to operate well in a team environment and when under pressure
- Knowledge of Java platforms and middleware is plus (e.g. Apache, Tomcat etc.)
- Knowledge of Cassandra is plus
- Experience in supporting Cloud customer facing production environments
- English intermediate / Advanced level
