We are looking for a Cloud/Devops/SRE Engineer to strengthen our SaaS Operations team for Engage. As a Cloud/Devops engineer you are responsible for investigating, building, and maintaining our infrastructure on AWS/Private cloudAzure/GCP.  You will be part of a team of engineers delivering mission critical infrastructure and ensuring the highest levels of availability, performance, and security. Our team works in 2 weeks sprints but being an Operations team mostly, there is nothing fixed in our sprint or working hours. 

Every member of the team will contribute to the main goals as well as the “situations” of the day. Overnight, members of the team take turns at “on-call” for a week long including the weekend doing a handover to the next person on Monday late morning.  With the addition of resources on a different timezone we aim to move to an organization closer to shits where people operating from Europe will count on people operating from the America timezone to take calls from European clients during the European night and vice-and-versa. Our Monthly Maintenance activities (from 0:00 AM to 4:00 AM local time) will also be executed by team members that operate in a timezone where this is business hours.

Team members also take turns of “on-call” to cover the weekend calls.

Primary responsibility

  • Operate our Security suite and work on the continuous improvement of our security posture.
  • Provide support and coaching to other teams as a third level of support.
  • Handle operational tasks.
  • Manage and monitor all installed systems and infrastructure.
  • Configure and maintain operating systems and system management tools.
  • Proactively ensure the highest levels of systems and infrastructure availability.
  • Write and maintain custom scripts to increase system efficiency and lower the human intervention time on any tasks.
  • Participate in the design of information and operational support systems.
  • Provide 2nd and 3rd level support.
  • Liaise with vendors and other IT personnel for problem resolution.

 

  • Enjoyed a higher education in IT/Engineering or equivalent through experience. 
  • At least one year experience in infrastructure related roles.
  • Passion for quality and attention to detail.
  • Innovative mind and eager to learn.
  • Able to determine the right technology to solve a specific challenge.
  • Good communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Fluent in English, knowledge of French/Dutch being an asset. 
  • You can work independently on resolving issues.
  • You can work under pressure and time constraints.
  • You are security minded.
  • You have experience with managing large scale windows server environments.
  • You have worked with public cloud deploying complete infrastructure from the ground up.
  • AWS or Azure
  • You have worked with infrastructure-as-code concepts: Terraform or equivalent (biceps, CloudFormation, Azure CLI, ...)
  • You have some experience with Git or other source control.
  • You have administered servers, email servers, deployment automation tools (Azure Devops, GitHub pipelines, Octopus, Chef/Puppet, Ansible), DNS, SAN systems.
  • You have used observability stacks like ELK or Grafana
